I can explain.
I had a baby.
Did you need more explanation than that?
She's two weeks old and is obviously the most gifted, smart, and beautiful newborn on the planet.
We're slowly getting used to getting sleep in two hour increments (or less) and we are very thankful for all of the help (especially my mom and sister) that we have had. They must have had enough because this week those helpers have gone on vacation to an exotic location (they deserve it) and I'll admit I'm a little nervous how the next week is going to go. I think it's harder this time around (or maybe I just blocked out all the hard stuff from the first time around...yeah probably that).
I won't be announcing her name (I don't share the real names on the Interwebz) but trust me it's very, very fitting of her personality.
I won't bore you with the details of the birth story...here are the highlights:
I puked before we left the house, they had trouble putting the spinal in, I puked on the operating table, they cut me open, they delivered the baby, my doctor is amazaballs, all was mostly well except she had low blood sugar, my nurses the first day were wonderful, the next days not so much, the baby developed jaundice, she's okay now. We are very, very blessed.
You will probably find me more on Instagram, Twitter or Tumblr than you will this blog in the next few months while I get adjusted to having both a teenager (gasp!) and a newborn (double gasp!). Much like this blog, my hair has been sorely neglected (I'm now at about 80% gray).
Off for a nap.
